{Digital Art} Jesús Adrián Romero - Portrait

This is my newest digi-painting! I couldn't paint anything for weeks, but I finally got something!
This is Jesús Adrián Romero - a "Cantante Cristiano", Christian Singer from Mexico, He's got a lovely voice and very good songs both lyrical and musical!

This is my attempt to draw/paint him, I wasn't going for realism at all just so you can tell it's him...I don't know that I did that unfortunately but it did come out good as a male drawing nonetheless...at least I think so! xD

Sooo here it is!

Programs used:

MyPaint
GIMP
HyperCam

References:

Screenshots taken from "El Aire De Tu Casa" Official Music Video, I couldn't find a picture of him smiling so I had to get one myself!

Here's my Result:

I think I made him look a lot younger than he is but oh wells...I don't think anyone would argue with looking younger.

Some Concept Sketches and Drawings.

Eyyyyyy! I have some sketches, haven't had a way to post them until I got to use my mother's camera since mine has a bad battery. Okay so, I'm working on trying to develop some African characters, why I'm not exactly sure but I think it's going to lead to something in the end so for now that's all I'll say.

I'm not fully sure of color meanings as of yet for Africa so if the colors mean something odd I didn't mean it that way!

I was working hard to capture the African feel whiles not "over exaggerating" the features, I don't have a fully permanent character yet but I'm going to need more sketches in the time to come.

___

First I'll do a random sketch of a semi futuristic female; nothing to do with the African characters.

Here is the sketch that started my African character "craze", it was a totally random drawing but I liked the style, she seemed quite lovely and exotic to me so I decided to try and make an actual character, to be honest I like her best out of all of the "young" characters you will see.

So here's the full-body sketch of a character and other sketches.

Here's a few more, I personally really like the female character, although her hair is short I think she has an interesting beauty to her.

Here's some sketches and I thought, maybe have a younger character, but in the end I didn't like this one so much.

Now I'm moving in to more colorful illustration-sketches.

This one is a more grandmotherly type character, she's imo obviously older but yet still had a certian beauty about her. I like this character, but attempts to recreate her failed miserably - So bad I wouldn't post it...

Colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Crayola/RoseArt Markers.

Here's some quick painting sketches:

This is totally with a Raphael portable painting set for color (except for Niji branded watercolor in white) and a micron pen for the sketchy outline.

And this is Rapheal paint and crayola markers:

I hope you enjoyed these!

One of the best inspirational things you could do is watch "Making Of" videos of movies like from the companies or Disney and/or Dreamworks animation, seeings all the work that is involved  is a real learning experience and is rather fun!

{Digital} Love Knows When

First art post this year, w00t!

This is a bit of a parable, it looks as though I'm saying love knows when to stop "loving", in other words it looks like I'm saying there's a time to stop loving, is it? Answer on the bottom for what this really means.

Made in GIMP, Recorded with HyperCam.

Answer (Highlight with your mouse to see better):
Love knows when to stop when an argument gets hostile, Love knows when to not succumb to pressure and Love will not give that pressure to begin with (drift taken?), Love knows when to let a person learn on their own, Love is there when you get hurt to comfort you even if what happened could have been avoided. Love knows, when to stop.

Tip of The Week; Week 9 - Animate something!

Sometimes when you want to get out of a creative "funk" animation is a good way to make the ole brain pumping! Start with something simple, just get 2 eyes and try animating them blinking, or make a cat and make it's tail move, start small! The great animators didn't make Cinderella or Angelic Layer over night!

Enjoy!
